The player in question had especially requested because of his wife to remain with him for over the permissible period of 15 times but it had been shot down from the Committee of Administrators (CoA), which had laid down the principles.
Now it’s come to light which the participant’s wife remained with him for the whole seven-week period of this championship without needing permission from the captain or the coach because of her long stay.
As per records in possession of PTI, the matter was discussed by the CoA in its meeting on May 3 but finally shot down the petition.
Ask from a participant
1. The COA mentioned that among those gamers in the Men’s Senior Team had made a request for consent for his wife to accompany him into the World Cup tour sooner than is otherwise permissible.
2. The CoA was advised that the matter has been shared with the concerned participant and it might not be a good idea to give the petition.
3. Following some debate, the CoA determined that it won’t accede from the player.
According to moments of CoA assembly on May 21 (Sec 1 (B) (1) ), the Family Clause said:”The matter of whether the ability to accept any visits from traffic beyond the’visitor interval’ must vest with the staff captain and mentor together with the BCCI management had been discussed. It had been mentioned that those things have been determined by the BCCI administration. It was also noticed that the BCCI constitution demands cricketing and non-cricketing things must be kept separate.”
A BCCI source privy to this evolution supported on conditions of anonymity, to PTI, a breach occurred.
“Yes, exactly the exact same participant in question, that had been denied consent through May 3 meeting, violated the 15-day rule throughout the World Cup. The question which arises here is if the participant in question had sought permission regarding the period of stay of his spouse. The solution is really a’No’,” the official stated.
The thing is yet to be reported on the Committee of Administrators (CoA) and queries are raised regarding why administrative director Sunil Subramaniam didn’t veto the arrangement as it was his domain name.
His job isn’t to track the training sessions of team. The CoA will take cognisance of the subject and seek a report by the director,” another senior BCCI official said.
